Available packages for the Sheeva Plug in the repository
From ComputingPlugs
There are a lot of packages available to the Sheeva Plug in the default Ubuntu repository. Ubuntu seems to be dedicated to providing ARM ports of their software. The repositories in my sources.list are:
deb http://ports.ubuntu.com jaunty main restricted universe multiverse deb-src http://ports.ubuntu.com jaunty main restricted universe multiverse
No need to take my word for it, here's a list of all the available packages you can apt-get right now.

Actually Ubuntu gets its packages from Debian, and Debian is very good about getting software ported to many architectures - including ARM.

Do you have aMule daemon running?

nope, but I "apt-get amule" and it installed just fine. I then fired it up under my vnc session and it seems to work. The version in the repository is aMule v2.2.4.
