Installing and running BOINC on the Sheeva Plug is as simple as:
sudo apt-get install boinc-client boinc-manager boinc-app-seti
You can then use boincmgr to attach to a project. Unfortunately, the only project that's available for the ARM processors is SETI@home. If you tried to connect to any other project, you would get an error message saying that:
Message from server: platform arm-unknown-linux-gnueabi not found.

With package 'boinc-app-milkyway' installed, MilkyWay@home works, too.
